Natural Selection is a concept of distant past, why?

We have found ways to hack through our biological system although we are not yet fully successful ,but that is fair enough for us to the amount of effort we have made in Science such a biology and medical science in the last 100 hundred years,but still there are some elusive disease which we are not yet successful in combating.Such as HIV and newly emerging infection ,but i't;s worth mentioning the progress we have made so far and how we are playing against the rule of natural selection

  • We use vaccines to train our bodies how to fight diseases without being exposed to those diseases.
  • We know what nutrients are needed for a healthy life and we have access to a variety of foods and supplments to make sure this happens.
  • We correct our vision through laser surgery.
  • We use a variety of methods to move our teeth into better positions and we can even replace lost teeth or remove excess teeth.
  • We use fluoride to strengthen our tooth enamel and bleach to whiten it.
  • We use probiotics and enzymes to modify our digestive flora.
  • We use antibiotics to remove harmful bacteria.
  • We can surgically correct many problems (congenital and acquired) before they cause failures.
  • We use an astounding number of drugs to modify our biochemistry in lots and lots of ways.  Antihistamines, statins, SSRI inhibitors.  Don't forget illegal drugs!

So can we force evolution that is the big question which is remaining ,can we evolve faster ,can we make better humans beings or organisms like the Khan charachter from Startrek:Into the darkness
