Why Humans can't fly like birds,or even mammal like bats.

Humans are considered as one of the most intelligent species on this planet but still we do lack certain features which such as the power of flight. But regardless the fact we can;t fly but as we are the intelligent species we have created means Artificial means which can help us fly.

But very basic question is why can't we fly as such, over the course of time we have learnt how to climb tree, big mountains,we learned how to swim,so why we couldn't evolve how to fly .

The  flight is that the most energetically high-ticket kind of travel, and wishes the complete remainder of the physiology to be tailored for flight. specifically, flight needs as very little mass as potential with an over sized distance and skill to speedily move muscles. this suggests the organism must absorb immense amounts of energy relative to its body size.

I will assume that you just area unit talking regarding humans evolving wings once they diverged from our most up-to-date common relation with chimpanzees.

For this to be possible, humans would want to evolve several of the variations usually concerned on the wing (wings, hollow bones, very high metabolism with heart rates throughout flight within the 200+ beats per minute vary, loss of virtually all body fat, loss of mass in appendages supernumerary for flight like the legs etc). the sole vertebrate to with success gain true flight area unit haywire, and that they are diverged from the remainder of the class tree for a hundred million years. we have a tendency to simply haven\'t been evolving for long enough, and additional significantly we have   been evolving to fill a very totally different biological process niche than the one stuffed by flying animals. it\'s primarily not possible for evolution to alter trajectories thus drastically on such short notice.

Most significantly, 1/4 of all of our energy intake is employed to feed our brain. Large, advanced brains area unit most likely basically incompatible with flight, as they\'re each immense energy sinks and that we wouldn\'t be able to fairly support each. Evolution would take away one or the opposite as the simplest way of up survival. Therefore, we\'d possible got to lose all of our understanding to be able to fly. thus if you may fly, you\'d most likely not have any of the hallmarks of a conscious organism.
